Hydraulic cylinder with mechanical locking feature at end position
The cylinder is mechanically locked at the end position using positive connecting members integrated into the cylinder.
Retention force is a multiple higher than the pure cylinder force and is being maintained at pressure loss.
Retraction and extension stroke are carried out identically to regular hydraulic cylinders, the locking and unlocking process happens self-actuated without additional means of control required.
When retracting the connecting members are being released self-actuated. The repeat accuracy for establishing the locking position is very high.
We manufacture these types of cylinders in various styles, sizes and with various strokes. Please contact us for a quote for your particular application.
These cylinders are often used for activating sliders, cores and similar components of die casting and injection molding tools. They are applied wherever elements or loads need to be carried safely without activated hydraulic pressure.
