Press cylinder with integrated double acting rapid traverse function for quick traverse paths yet high press forces with little power requirements of power unit.
The cylinder with a piston diameter of 500mm has a small double acting cylinder integrated for moving the piston rod. The piston space of the main cylinder is fed through a suction valve directly from the hydraulic oil tank. The suction valve acts as a non-return valve and keeps the connection to the tank unpressurized. The ring space of the press cylinder remains unpressurized as well.
With this application the cylinder can be extended in 3 seconds and can be retracted in 2 seconds at a flow rate of 40 l/min provided by the power unit. Comparable traverse speeds for a normal cylinder of this size would require a flow rate of 1500 l/min.
